United Methodist Women has been challenging social injustice for almost 150 years.
Members improve the lives of women, children and youth nationally and internationally.

United Methodist Women (UMW) is an organization of women who through devotion and fellowship provide attention to the needs of women, children and youth in the community. Our purpose is to be a community of women, to know God, to develop a creative and supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission. We advocate in areas such as Human Trafficking, Domestic Violence, Racial Justice and Women’s Rights and Health Care. In conjunction with our congregation, we have collected new clothing and toiletry items for young victims caught up in Human Trafficking. We provide financial support to organizations such as Metro and New Entra Casa in San Diego. Currently we are at work in a Prayer Shawl ministry where the “Yarnsters” gather twice monthly to knit or crochet shawls which will be given to individuals suffering a loss or find themselves in a personal struggle. Meanwhile, the “Fabricnestias” will make pillowcases for homeless children.

The Vista Operation Hope homeless shelter for women and children will be receiving donated items (toilet paper, garbage bags, plastic bags, etc) to assist in their continuation of a vital program in helping homeless women and children in the community.
